Maldives Tourism Intelligence is the intelligence arm of Maldives News. Where the newsroom publishes articles, this site connects them: research notes derive from published reporting, topic and entity notes place each fact in the system it belongs to, and dashboards such as Current Signals and Risk Dashboard track the state of the Maldives tourism economy over time.

The publication standards are the newsroom’s. Every figure comes from a cited source with an “as of” date, contested claims are attributed to whoever made them, and nothing appears here that is not grounded in published reporting or a named public document. How notes are classified and graded is set out in Methodology.

An honest note on scope: coverage currently centres on the foreign exchange and fiscal crisis of 2026, the Dollar Shortage, reserves, debt and the regulatory response, because that is where the reporting has been. The intention is to expand outward from there across the full Tourism Industry map: demand, supply, performance, aviation, labour and investment.
